Join auto historian Mitch Frumkin for a fast-paced, 50-minute multimedia journey through the history of the Chicago Auto Show from 1901 to 2025, just in time for the 2026 show. Relive more than a century of automotive excitement with highlights from over 117 shows, featuring classic auto debuts, decades of muscle and pony cars, exotic dream machines, concept vehicles, musical stage revues, celebrity appearances, and Chicagoland community queens.

Attendees will have a chance to win one of four pairs of complimentary passes to the 118th Annual Chicago Auto Show, scheduled for February 7-16, 2026, along with the latest car care products from Turtle Wax and copies of the book First To One Hundred: History of the First 100 Chicago Auto Shows.

Programming Policy: Please note - if you register and are unable to attend the program, please call the library to cancel or cancel your registration online. This allows patrons from the wait list to be added. Repeated no shows may not be allowed to register for programs. For full policy details, please visit our website.

About the branch

Shorewood-Troy Public Library is located in the Brookforest neighborhood just northeast of the Route 52/Jefferson St. and Brookshore Dr. intersection.

Since its creation in 1975, the library strives to:

-Support lifelong learning for personal development and discovery
-Provide free and easy access to print and digital  materials and resources, along with equipment, facilities for public use and friendly knowledgeable staff
-Build community in a warm and welcoming space
-Promote the enjoyment of reading by offering a wide variety of materials, both recent and classic
